Like cashiers at grocery stores or convenience stores, people who work in retail help to manage the cash registers and keep track of the money that goes in and goes out. Sometimes, we encounter retail associates throughout the day without even realizing that we’re talking to someone in retail. A good retail associate is extremely knowledgeable about the product or service that is being sold. They also have to have a good deal of patience when dealing with all customers, especially the difficult ones that are bound to come through on any given day. Additionally, a person working in retail must be genuinely friendly, have a cheerful attitude, is a naturally happy person, and have a willingness to go above and beyond for the customer without a lot of prodding to do so. Long hours, busy days, and nights and weekend work are often a normal course of operation in many places of retail. People in this position are responsible for onboarding new staff, training current and new staff, establishing goals, making decisions, and ensuring consistent service is given across all stores or chains. A fair amount of skill is needed to work in retail. However, if you have the personality, most places will offer training for what is specific to that store. There are many people who rise through the ranks of retail without an education. This is not permission for you to drop school altogether; school is still important, but you can learn specific aspects of the  business. Those with a bachelor’s degree, or even an associate’s degree, have a better chance of getting managerial roles quicker. Abundant opportunities exist in the world of retail. Students taking AP courses in the fall can just sit back, relax and enjoy their summer so that theyre well rested for the task at hand, right? Wrong! Almost every AP course includes summer work, so its important that students get this completed before the first day of school. 1. Managing summer work Nearly every AP course will include summer work. This work is due on the first day of class and will help students understand the type of assignments that will be completed throughout the year. If a student is taking their first AP course, they are encouraged to sit down and organize all of the work that needs to be done over the summer before too much time has passed. Many students leave summer work until the last minute and can become incredibly overwhelmed. Official SAT Changes for 2016 Announced On March 5, 2014, The College Board officially announced the multiple changes it will make to its well-known college entrance exam, the SAT. First discussed in 2013 (and the first large-scale revision since 2005), these changes will modernize the SAT and intend to improve its ability to accurately evaluate students readiness for higher education. The adjustments will affect both content and the required skills to score well, though the tests general format of three sections will remain. (Note, however, that what constitutes each portion will differ.) For a specific treatment of each sections revisions, see below. [RELATED: What is an Average SAT Score?] How will the Reading section change? Reading comprehension questions will challenge students to utilize evidence within passages to support their answers. Though Reading is expected to remain a multiple-choice test, this change still represents a distinct progression from the current format. Selections will also be drawn from different sourcesnamely various academic disciplines, with a focus on important developments in U.S. history and science (for example, excerpts from the Declaration of Independence). Stereotypical SAT vocabulary like sagacious will be eliminated in favor of terminology that is more typical of higher education and the working world. Such words as empirical and synthesis will take sagacious place. Context will also be key, as the SAT will emphasize vocabulary that is influenced by its use within a larger segment of text. How will the Math section change? This portion of the SAT will remain relatively consistent. However, questions will involve a narrower range of content areas, with three overarching topics total: algebra, advanced mathematics, and data analysis and problem-solving. One major change students must take note of is the fact that calculators will no longer be permitted throughout the entire section. Their use will, instead, be limited. In addition, the maximum SAT score will return to 1600, rather than the current 2400, and students who opt to sit for the essay will receive a separate mark for their work. The structure of the essay will undergo significant revision as well. Rather than responding to a prompt with personal beliefs and experiences as proof, test-takers will have to analyze evidence within a provided passage. Scores will be based on both analysis and writing. As is the case with the Reading section, selections will consist of source documents with cultural merit. The revised SAT will be offered in both electronic and print formats beginning in the spring of 2016. And the especially beneficial news for students? Incorrect multiple-choice answers will no longer result in a deduction of their hard-earned points (i.e. there will no longer be a guessing penalty). The naginata first appeared in Japan in the 10th century having originated in China. This lan ce has a curved blade at the end. It’s light and manageable and was used by several types of warrior:Horse-mounted warriorsWarrior monksFemale guardsLadies of lordsToday, naginata is a martial art predominately practised by women.  The yari is a lance that measures between 2.5 and 4m in length. The blade at the can be double-edged or in the form of a cross (ju-ji). It’s useful for both cutting and stabbing, making the yari one of the most deadly weapons in Japanese history.  Furthermore, you can use the butt of the yari to strike your foe, a movement which features in many aikido kata.Torimono SandoguTorimono Sandogu designed three mêlée weapons during the Edo Period for law enforcement. These weapons include the sasumata (double fork), sodegarami (points), and tsukubo (t-shaped). They weren’t designed to kill but rather capture and were usually used to capture suspected criminals.Ninja Weapons: Yumi, Kunai, Senbon, Shaken, and ShurikenNinjas are shadow warriors who are famo us all over the world for their combat style, ninjutsu. These professional spies used a series of thrown weapons or strikes. Ninjas are very popular in the west. However, they were an important part of Japanese history and so were their weapons. (Source: MichaelWuensch)Firstly, the yumi is a Japanese bow. It wasn’t just used by ninjas but it did give these stealthy warriors an advantage. It wasn’t used as much as the kunai, though. This was a small dagger which worked both as a tool and a weapon.  Ninjas could also use a ninja sword, which was shorter and easier to handle than a katana.Of all the ninja weapons, the shuriken (ninja stars), a metal star that could be thrown at foes and tipped with poison, was among the most famous. The star-shaped shuriken is known as the shaken. Senbon were another effective weapon for the ninja. At this time, the inhabitants of Okinawa were unsurprisingly unwilling to be invaded and had developed a range of weapons based on traditional agricultural tools. These weapons were integrated into Japanese martial arts and became known as kobudo.The most famous of these weapons is the nunchaku. Nunchaku are two batons held together by a cord or chain and are used similarly to a flail. While the nunchaku is now used more artistically, it served as a tool for self-defence against the invading Japanese armies.The sai is another of these weapons: an Asian dagger with three points that can be used to stab but not cut. It originated from an agricultural tool used to plant rice or pierce fruits. The sai is generally used in pairs but a third can be used as a thrown weapon. This type of weapon came to be used by law enforcement all over the world but is also used in Japanese martial arts.A lot of Okinawan weapons were based on sickles, hoes, or hooks like the kama and the kue.
